Ethereum Merge: release date, delay, and price prediction

UPDATE: We just learned that the Merge will be delayed, so the users' predictions turned out right! The latest news about the Ethereum Merge release date suggests that it will be launched "a few months after June."

If you observe the crypto market closely you probably heard about Ethereum Merge. What exactly does it mean to Ethereum? When we can expect the Merge? And what is the price prediction for ETH after this event? For all this info check the comments below.
What is the Ethereum Merge? It’s a new way of using the technology behind it. It is full of network upgrades that will grant faster transactions and cheaper fees. Ethereum after the Merge will be able to execute smart contracts more efficiently than ever before!
On the technical side, now we can notice both Eth1 (execution layer) and Eth2 (consensus layer). By merging them we will receive a whole new look at Ethereum and the Gas price. The future of the Ethereum economy contains also the replacement of proof-of-work with proof-of-stake. Proof-of-stake consensus is a much more cost-effective and efficient way to “mine” cryptocurrencies.
The Ethereum Merge release date is planned for Q2 2022 according to ethereum.org

What is your general opinion about the Merge itself?

It seems to me a good option to combine or have them combined to form a single entity. And that Ethereum is a network of efficient use of energy based on Proof of Stake (PoS), or Proof of Participation. And in turn, it is made that Ethereum is much more decentralized and secure, also this change due to The Merge will not have any effect on the data layer in the Ethereum network. It will only be an update to the consensus layer, as Vitalik originally thought

How do you feel about the release date - is it going to be delayed?

As far as I know, there is no release date but an expectation that the release will be somewhere in Q2 2022. I am talking here about the merge itself, not the Shard chains one can expect at the end of 2023.

What is your price target for ETH after the merge?

After the Merge, I would expect the price of ETH to be around $9500. The usage of the Ethereum blockchain will increase as the lower fees will make the Ethereum blockchain more attractive for users to develop products.

Are you using L2 (Arbitrum) already? If not, are you planning to do so after the Merge? Elaborate.

As a kind reminder, Arbitrum is a layer two solution designed to improve the capabilities of Ethereum smart contracts and address some shortcomings such as poor efficiency and high transaction costs. Although the Arbitrum mainnet launched end of August last year, I don't have the opportunity to use it so far, but I plan to use it in the nearly future as soon as it is easy to use with ETH-based NFT platforms

What is your general opinion about the Merge itself?

It is the opportunity to have a transition to a more sustainable approach from different perspectives including ecological footprint, scalability and security.

How do you feel about the release date - is it going to be delayed?

This is a secondary aspect. The most important thing is that security and the decentralisation are maintained and improved as claimed initially. Better wait but have a stable and reliable system than rush and jeopardise everything.

What is your price target for ETH after the merge?

That is a tricky question as it is quite unpredictable. I expect to see a constant rise of the price even if I hope it will stabilise so it can be effectively used as an alternative currency. Too much volatility does not help in having a large number of users.

Are you using L2 (Arbitrum) already? If not, are you planning to do so after the Merge? Elaborate.

Not immediately. Arbitrum is smart contract based, therefore all the issues connected to smart contract shall be taken in account including bugs and hacking. Further it does not have a token and the costs are in ethereum.
