experience: Web 3.0 vs. Metaverse: similarities and differences
Blockchain academic & analyst.
In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Well many people get confused on what the Metaverse is, and to put in extremely simple terms, its a new way for people to interact with content online, so instead of interacting with 2 dimensional applications on a mobile phone, or browsing through the web flipping through pages or tabs, these websites are transformed into 3-dimensional objects. So, instead of browsing through an apparel store or an online sports shop, the website is transformed to a 3-dimensional building or mall, where users interact with it as in-game characters or avatars. instead of flipping through pages on a web browser, users will be able to interact virtually and immerse themselves in the virtual building. not only that, they will be able to walk or virtually teleport from one "website" to the other but in 3-dimensions. The next level is integrating Virtual reality headsets which will push the experience to another level where users can then "feel" & interact with objects and other users virtually. So the concept of the Metaverse would be like a more interactive & immersive internet where users will be able to jump from one virtual world to the other. Web3.0 is the evolution of how users control their online identities and digital assets. in Web2.0, which we have been living & experiencing, is where companies and developers develop online products and services, such as social media apps for instance, for users to interact with, but in a centralized manner, meaning the companies own everything on the platform and users have little to no control over the content they create. So web2.0, users create content, companies control the content and monetize it. Web3.0 users create the content, and users control & monetize the content. how? through blockchain & cryptocurrencies. Blockchain enables users online to interact with online services which are governed by a decentralised network of computers, not a single company, with access to these services being totally open and permissionless for anyone with an internet connection & a cryptocurrency wallet. In this setting, users have full control of their online identities & control when and how they share their data with different online applications through their private keys. in Web2.0, the centralized entity controls access to the service, and control user data. in Web2.0 users register to access a service and give up their precious data and content in exchange for convenience of the service. unless they agree to the terms of service, they are bared for access. in Web3.0, the online service is open for access to anyone and no registration needed, so users have full control of their data but at the same time bear the risk of protecting their digital data and assets as they become the only custodians and therefore forego the convenience of centralized services.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
With all of this into consideration, the OPEN Metaverse is indeed WEB3.0. An internet with no gatekeepers and centralized entities. An internet that is governed by a decentralized community of nodes that offer open, permissionless, censorship resistant access to users around the world to exchange value and information on their own terms. An internet that is immersive and provide a way to digitally own & transfer data and content freely.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Web 3.0, and metaverse had remain one of the unfolded latest technology so far. A lot ideas related to each seems to depict the same idea, which is advance users experience on the internet. While web3.0 focuses on making the internet more intelligent, easily accessible, the metaverse is said to be like a virtual environment which one can be in and exist. Metaverse will require extra hardware's, more intelligence and a lot more time to achieve. The web 3.0 is being gradually introduced and a lot of website has been showing a tip of an iceberg of what is to come... I see it that web 3.0 will precede the metaverse, as the metaverse will also embrace the whole of web 3.0 technology.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
I see both to be advanced technology, which is something that will evolve gradually. The technologies will involve high level of artificial intelligence and advance user interface.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Web 3.0 and Metaverse, are inextricably linked with each other if we are talking about the future of internet technology however there are a few differences between them. Let's have a look at the following concepts: WEB 3.0 :- This is an advanced next-generation technology for the internet. Basically, it targets machine learning and artificial intelligence. This technology helps to arrange & well structure the data on the internet to make them easily accessible to any sort of users all around the world. Nowadays, so many websites are exhibiting animated and clickable content due to the help of this technology. It is also known as the “Semantic Web" to offer more functionality, security, and interoperability. Metaverse:- This is also a next-generation technology that attempts to connect offline and online worlds based on augmented reality and virtual reality. This technology helps users to get involved in the digital world. The term metaverse has the border sense so it should not be just limited to virtual reality. META CEO Mark Zuckerberg is believing, the metaverse could give an immersive experience to the users.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
They both are focusing on the next-generation internet technology by changing the way of sharing content through the internet. Both technology help users to dive into the digital world through IoT.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
There are two key concepts behind these two ideas, or at least that's how I see it from a user experience point of view. In addition, from this perspective, one of the concepts encompasses the other without meaning that one is more than the other. In the case of Web 3.0, we must understand “the value” and on the Metaverse side we must understand “the place”. The value that moves from the real world to the virtual world and can be transmuted into different representations unique in its essence and valuable within the place. To delve a little into these 2 ideas, my thought is that the Metaverse is built, or can be built, on the fundamental foundations of Web 3.0 which allows them to share intrinsic characteristics and generate such confusion. In the end, it is natural to feel a little confused I would say. It's like the time you get in a car and drive it anywhere. (Assuming you already know how to drive) You don't need to understand the internal mechanics of the engine or the workings of the gear to be able to start the vehicle and use it your way.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
Fundamentally, it is the ability to build value in a decentralized virtual community. Something not very different from what the communities of each dApp (UniSwap, curve.finance, Compund, etc...) are in the crypto world.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Web 3.0 simply put can be called the ‘semantic web’ with its ability to automatically derive meaning by processing data across different applications and program. It includes the decentralized web powered by blockchain technology and decentralized finance including tokenization and digital currencies. On the other hand, the meterverse simply put is Web 3.0 interface which encompasses both physical and digital world and will be accessed and experienced through Augmented Reality AR and Virtual Reality VR devices. Metaverse is the framework for extremely connected life.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 hardwares can include wearables like smart glasses, watches, smart shoes and clothing and many more which will be used to experience the Metaverse (Meta world) The common ground is the technology and applications behind the experience. Where Web 3.0 is the technology and applications built to experience a new verse called metaverse. Social networks in Web 3.0 simply put will not be endless feeds but rather sprawling meterverses.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
There's been this hype about the METAVERSE, but most people are yet to understand it. I'll be explaining it in details. The word METAVERSE is made up of the prefix; "META" which means "beyond". And "VERSE" which is derived from the word "universe". Thus 🔸METAVERSE is a combination of physical, virtual and augmented reality, in a shared online environment. Just like in the normal internet, you get to login and connect to the virtual world with the help of a head mounted display of a virtual reality headset. Humans get to experience life or exist in a virtual world in form of avatars and also get to see buildings, people and vehicles just like in the real world. With the metaverse, you get to exist in a virtual world where you're previleged to experience similar real life scenarios but in a virtual form with limitless abilities. It is more like being present in the internet rather than staring at it on a screen 🔸In a layman's understanding: Instead of video chatting your friends on a screen, the metaverse puts you in a virtual 3D environment (of your choice) similar to the real world where you get to interact, play games, discuss etc with your friends who are represented by their avatars, all with the help of a specially designed virtual reality headset. It is still quite unclear what the metaverse will look like and how it'll work. 🔸But, it will not be attaining it's climax stages anytime soon due to its complexity and the whole new bliss it offers. • The #metaverse is transforming the entertainment industry really fast. 🔸It is believed yet the market opportunity for the metaverse will hit about $800,000,000,000. (80 billion dollars) by 2024. HOW DOES METAVERSE APPLY TO REAL LIFE? 🔸Metaverse technology has experienced massive adoption recently from tech companies like Facebook Microsoft, Epic games etc. They can't risk getting left behind. 🔸Facebook is transitioning from just a social media app to a metaverse company. 🔸The gaming industry remains one of the top industries that'll benefit from this technology. It'll give users a better gaming experience compared to the the# normal gaming system. Instead of playing games on the screen, the metaverse gives you the feeling of being present in the game. 🔸In the words of Mark Zuckerberg: "it is a Virtual environment where you can be present with people in digital spaces. You can think of this more like an embodied internet that you're inside of rather than just looking at. We believe that's it's gonna be the successor to the mobile internet". Meetings, seminars, hangouts, parties, Music festivals and other occasions can be hosted inside the metaverse digitally. That's what the metaverse is all about. In the next article I'll be reviewing how you can benefit from it and the opportunities available in this new technology, and how you can invest in it... They are decentralized, more fun and in the aspect of Music and Art, entertainment as well. NFT is a non fungible token, while metervase can also be refer as that, we can exchange metervase token, we Play2Earn while on NFT we design for an exchange, everything speaks about different aspects of skills... I might be a game type while my friend my be a designer we can both earn with our skills

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Web 3.0 is permissionless while Metaverse is a projection of reality but in a virtual environment. Web3 has got its Metaverse created by different innovators. It has its economics, social networking, and governance supervised by the people who use the Metaverse. Think of an upgraded blend of Sims City, Second Life, and Minecraft. In this segment, we explore some of the web3 metaverses that deliver an immersive experience of the virtual realm.
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
Metaverse is a projection of reality but in a virtual environment. A virtual universe that allows users to formulate, publish and monetize digital content. You may call it a manifestation of the truth mimicked in an isolated environment that you access digitally or virtually. When many people talk about the metaverse nowadays, they mostly refer to the eight elements proposed by Roblox, the “first share of the metaverse”, namely identity, friends, immersion, low latency, diversity, anytime, anywhere, economic system and civilization. Among them, civilization will be the ultimate development direction. Both of this two are Big help in enhancing the Web.

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
The Metaverse will bring about a future epoch of human society where play is a job, creation is commodified, and anyone can make something durable enough to be carried to the context of any experience. Early adoption will be critical to that mission. Epic Games and Roblox aren't the only ones vying to establish the bounds of the Metaverse, but they're setting the tone for others to join the effort. Web3 enhances the internet as we know it today with a few other added characteristics. web3 is: Verifiable Trustless Self-governing Permissionless Distributed and robust Stateful Native built-in payments In web3, developers don't usually build and deploy applications that run on a single server or that store their data in a single database (usually hosted on and managed by a single cloud provider).

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Through web 3.0 the user is related to all the information available throughout the web and this in turn is presented according to the preferences or tastes of the person. While aue in the metaverse an immersive experience is presented, in which the real and virtual world interact closely, allowing not only to obtain relevant information as in web 3.0, but to be part of it
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
What both technologies have in common is that the user is the object or center of development of the same, in one more passively (web 3.0) and in the other (metaverse) actively

In your opinion, what are the differences between Web 3.0 and Metaverse?
Web 3.0 Web 1.0 (around 1991 – 2005) consisted of mainly static websites on desktops and laptops. It was expensive to create a site and so only big companies had them and they were mainly for pushing information or as replacing things like the Yellow Pages for finding things. Web 2.0 is social and mobile and characterised by an explosion of digital creation though blogging, podcasting, social media, video, comments, digital publishing and digital commerce. The cost of creation basically went to zero and everyone with a mobile device and/or access to the internet could have an online presence. Facebook launched in 2004 and Twitter in 2006. The iPhone and the Kindle were both launched in 2007, which is when web 2.0 really took off. Web 3.0 is the next stage and we are in the early stages now, kind of like the years 2004-2006 when early adopters began blogging, way before it went mainstream. Web 3.0 is about exponential converging technologies, rather than one thing on its own. It encompasses the decentralized web powered by blockchain technology and decentralized finance including tokenization and digital currencies (which will be launched by banks as official country-specific currencies). It will also encompass the spatial web which will blur the boundaries between digital and physical though the use of sensors (the Internet of Things), AR and VR. Artificial intelligence and 5G connectivity will underly everything, a bit like electricity and mobile internet do now. The Metaverse Neal Stephenson first came up with this term in his 1992 novel, Snow Crash, and it encompasses both physical and digital worlds. It won’t be a single place run by one specific company. It’s more like ‘the internet,’ a term that encompasses so much. It will be accessed and experienced through AR and VR devices, rather than just 2D screens. Venture capitalist Matthew Ball describes the metaverse not as a virtual world or a space, but as “a sort of successor state to the mobile internet” — a framework for an extremely connected life. There “will be no clean ‘Before Metaverse’ and ‘After Metaverse.' Instead, it will slowly emerge over time as different products, services and capabilities integrate and meld together.”
What common ground are between the Metaverse with Web 3.0?
In October 2020, The Verge reported that “more than a million people showed up to an album launch party inside the virtual world of Roblox. American pop star Ava Max held a ‘virtual fan meetup’ in the game to celebrate the launch of her new album Heaven & Hell.” Roblox is a gaming platform that’s been around since 2006, but Jon Vlassopulos, Roblox’s head of music said, “The stretch goal is to go to the non-obvious places, where we can make the virtual experience even better than the real-world experience … The confluence of virtual spaces and music has been steadily growing for some time, but it’s really accelerated in 2020 due to the pandemic. With live, in-person events almost entirely canceled across the globe, artists have been searching for new ways to connect with fans.” [The Verge] At WIRED Live (online) in November 2020, the CEO of Improbable.io, Herman Narula, said that “the virtual world won’t replace the ‘real’ world,” but it will improve our interactions, because it is one of the few places where age, gender, race, sexuality, nationality and language don’t matter. He predicted that there would be jobs inside virtual worlds within five years, and that VR has the potential to be as transformative as the internet. There have been virtual economies within virtual worlds for years. Second Life was established in 2003 and still has active users who interact, buy and sell with avatars, but it’s all 2D on a screen. As the price of virtual reality headsets drop, and more people use them for work, education, and gaming, new forms of retail will emerge. VR offers a new way to teach, connect, earn additional revenue and market books. Many writers teach, and many also speak and network at in-person events and conventions. While these physical events will continue, online and virtual events will only expand, and I expect to be speaking in VR before 2030
