NFT’s NEED to start deriving value for the holder. So far, Defi experiment’s that lock reward value back into NFT’s seem to be failing and, although I do not personally hold any staked NFT’s, the grapevine is indicating that this has not been a great success so far either. Also, we are witnessing the dissonance among the holders of punks and apes, whose community has been disrupted in the equivalent of a corporate merger, leaving them wondering exactly what it means to be part of an NFT community. Some feel that their exclusive community has been sold out from under them. Many wouldn’t mind if The Zuck bought an Ape, but they’re not so sure that they want him to have the ability to buy the whole farm. So, at this point the crypto community needs to try anything to create a lasting value - a sustainable value to the holding of an NFT. Art is nice, and it will probably hold value, in some instances over time, but allowing athletes to interact with fans that hold a collectible NFT or that allows that fan access to a specialized community focused on that athlete would appear to be the next big experiment in the NFT space. Humans love collecting things. We know this and that fact is not likely to change. We have been doing it with art, now let’s try to get Tom Brady on board. Maybe next year I can buy Tom Brady’s house and transfer ownership through an NFT. I think that’s where we are ultimately heading with NFT’s.

In blocsports we see interaction with celebrity figures taken to the next level. Because, at the root, that’s what these athletes are - celebrities. This is just the next iteration of celebrity fawning - which is ok with me! I’d LOVE to have the ability to buy an NFT that bought me a dinner with my favorite fiction writer…Or with the next recipient of the Nobel prize for Physics.. We all have celebrities that need fawning. Blocsports is just doing their fishing in the sports celebrity realm.
